Musical Director and Conductor: Lindsay Ryan

Lindsay has a Bachelor of Music (French Horn) and a Bachelor of Teaching (Honours) gained from the University of Melbourne, Australia. She also has an Associate of Music, Australia performance diploma (Horn) from the Australian Music Examinations Board.

Lindsay has a passion for conducting that commenced in Australia prior to her arrival in London in 2006, including the completion of her Australian Choral Conductors Education and Training choral conducting qualification in 2000 under the tutelage of Graham Abbott and Faye Dumont and studies at the University of Melbourne in 2001 with Professor John Hopkins. In 2008-9, Lindsay was invited to participate in RNCM conducting workshops with Mark Elder, Mark Heron and Timothy Reynish. In May 2010 she participated in an international conducting masterclass with Lior Shambadal and Romolo Gessi in Vicenza, Italy. In August 2010 she was invited to participate in the Weiz International Conducting Masterclass, Austria. Currently she studies conducting with renowned leaders of the profession, Adrian Brown and Achim Holub.

Her performance experience in London has included performing with the Bromley Symphony Orchestra, Orpington and Sevenoaks Orchestras, Lewisham Concert Band and established chamber groups as well as freelancing.

In addition, Lindsay's expertise includes the establishment of ensembles in various schools, enabling young people to experience creative music-making in choirs, bands, orchestras and world music ensembles. She has provided performance opportunities to young people in venues such as the Churchill Theatre, Fairfield Halls and the O2 Arena. Community outreach is a particular passion of Lindsay's and through successful funding from Making Music and the Mayor's Fund of Lewisham she has initiated orchestral music workshops and performance opportunities for children at primary and secondary levels, harnessing the skills and knowledge of local musicians for the next generation.

Lindsay is the founding Musical Director of Harmony Sinfonia and Associate Conductor of Stoneleigh Youth Orchestra with Adrian Brown.



Paul Weymont - Leader

Paul’s passion for the violin and making music began at an early age. He won a scholarship place at The Wells Cathedral School where he was taught by Yfrah Neaman, David Nolden, and Mark Knight. His early career was with England’s oldest established orchestra, The Royal Artillery Orchestra, playing solos as well as leading and constructing programmes for the Royal Artillery Quartet. Whilst studying at The Guildhall School of Music he attended Master classes with Hugh Bean, Andrew Watkinson and Detlef Hahn.

Paul has always been involved with community projects, keen to share his love of music with others. He has taught in Primary and Secondary schools including Montbelle, Colfe’s and Francis Holland Girls. He co-founded the “Greenwich String Project” teaching and performing with Greenwich primary schoolchildren and worked with the “Greenwich String Orchestra” to give adult players performance opportunities.

His work with orchestras includes performances with The Royal Shakespeare Company, Opera North, Pro Repertoire Orchestra, Southern Pro Musica with Jonathan Willcocks and The Ernest Reed Orchestra. He led the Isle of White Symphony Orchestra for the International Oboe competition, which was recorded by Classic fm. Working locally included performing with the Thomas Tallis Society, The London Banqueting Ensembles and being co Principal with the Forest Philharmonic.
