We are so excited to announce that our next concert, on Saturday 23rd November, is a celebration of our 10th birthday!
We are very proud that Harmony Sinfonia has been consistently growing and taking on challenging, ambitious repertoire over the last decade, and producing fantastic, high quality concerts.
We are also thrilled that for this special occasion we have programmed a Holst-fest: Our feature piece will be none other than The Planets! It's an amazing challenge to take on a piece of this magnitude, and last night's rehearsal showed that it is going to be well worth it.
We have also programmed Holst's The Perfect Fool, which is a really special piece for us because it featured on the programme of Harmony Sinfonia's very first concert. Revisiting this last night was incredible, as some players actually found their original markings in their parts from ten years ago.
Our rehearsals this term are featuring Planets-themed treats and snacks in the breaks, and this week the cello section was responsible for the goodies. They adopted a "space" theme, and everyone got a good sugar hit to push them through the second half!
